Annual Christmas Party

Every year we host a Christmas Party and put out lots of goodies. We make almost everything at the party from scratch. Here's what our guests enjoyed this year! Here is the main table, with the roast turkey, roast beef, homemade cranberry sauce, rolls, and assorted other yummy food. We also had a ham, which hadn't made it to the table yet when this picture was taken.

We had a chili bar with homemade chili (of course), and all the chili fixings like sour cream, cilantro, diced jalapenos and onions, and cornbread. This year we had cornbread with and without jalapenos.

We had a bunch of different dips. We had homemade onion dip, artichoke and spinach dip, bacon-cheddar-sundried tomato dip, southwestern dip with chipoltles in adobo, and homemade pimiento cheese.

No Christmas party would be complete without dessert. We made sixteen kinds of cookies this year, including mini linzer cookies, jam thumbprints, chocolate sandwich cookies filled with either vanilla cream, mint, or peanut butter filling, chocolate crinkles, chocolate cherry blossoms, kouabides, butterballs, peanut butter blossoms, molasses crinkles, snickerdoodles, and swedish sugar cookies. We also made on-top-on-top for the kids.

More cookies, plus spiced nuts, peanut brittle, pumpkin bread, and gingerbread.  No one is allowed to leave hungry from our house! We didn't get a picture of it, but the homemade egg nog was a big hit, both the kiddie version and the full strength adult version.
