Peanut Butter Cup Bars
I have been asked for the recipe for these delicious bars. I must apologize that I did not write down the source of this recipe, but they are so good, I wanted to share.
Peanut Butter Cup Bars
1/2 cup butter
1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
1 cup smooth peanut butter
3/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips or chopped chocolate ( I used chopped milk chocolate bar)
butter to grease pan
Line an 8 x 8 square pan with foil leaving enough to hang over the side of the pan, butter the foil.
In a medium saucepan, melt 1/2 cup better over low heat. Once melted, remove form heat and stir in powdered sugar until smooth. Stir in peanut butter and the graham cracker crumbs until completely combined and smooth. Spread mixture into pan. (the mixture will be very thick and does not spread evenly very easily, I used some butter spray on the spatula and that helped).
In a small saucepan, melt 1/4 cup butter. Add chocolate and stir until almost completely melted. Pour over peanut butter mixture and smooth over top in an even layer.
Refrigerate at least one hour, the original recipe called for 30 minutes, but when I checked them after 30 minutes, the bars were not set enough to be able to cut them. Remove from pan using the foil overhangs and place on a cutting board. Use a pizza cutter or a non-serrated knife to cut into 16 bars. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
I can't tell you how long they will last in your refrigerator, because they are so yummy that they were all gone in two days in my house!
Enjoy,
Elizabeth

Winter 2011
My birthday is in January. I have always hated having my birthday so close to Christmas, plus being a twin, I always have to share it with my sister. My husband brought home these flowers, plus a very sweet card on my birthday. He also bought a cake and some ice cream at a local grocery store. Now, normally, store bought baked goods are not in our house, but he did not want me to have to make my own cake, so I thanked him and ate some! It was actually pretty good!
My kids, 11, and 12 grew up thinking that all Mom's baked all the time. When we moved to this neighborhood a few years ago, some neighbor kids came over and I had just made a chocolate cake and offered some to them. One went home and said to their mom, "Mrs. Pound bakes!" "I am going to like living here!"
To everyone who has a January Birthday, Happy Birthday to you! And if your Birthday is on January 19, then I hope you had an especially happy day!

Happy New Year everyone...I know it is a little late!
Thank you to everyone who viewed my blog in 2010 and for those of you who placed orders with me. It was such an honor to be a part of your holiday celebrations.
I hope everyone is having a good 2011 so far. If you are like me, the kids have gone back to school and you are getting your house back to normal, throwing out the tree and putting the decorations away for another year.
I am looking forward to a new year and making some new friends with this blog. I am excited to start trying out some new recipes that my family and I have been brainstorming about. Be on the lookout for pictures of the completed products. My family is looking forward to testing out the recipies as are my neighbors. Who wouldn't love a neighbor ringing the doorbell and asking if you would try a new cupcake, or brownie, or cookie??!!
Have a wonderful rest of your day!
